At first, I was really enjoying this First Person Sci-fi shooter but as time goes by… every level and difficulty is getting kind of crazy. The enemy AI is getting pretty annoying especially on that part where you faces tons of flying bugs. it’s quite impossible to get myself out of that level… so hard, i want to crash that DVD game to bits. but don’t get me wrong, there are some good sides to this game.

Turok uses the Unreal 2.5 engine so expect an eye candy graphics here. Weapons are cool and the story will suck you in. but the gameplay and annoying difficulty might turn off some FPS fanatics out there.

Turok is worth the price for a sale bin ( around $6 up ), but buying this game in full retail will be such a waste for your wallet.

Graphics:
I’m really not impressed on how Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway rendered. Graphics are quite outdated compared to Call of Duty World at War. Cut-scenes are dull plus the facial structures are quite funny.

Sounds and Gore Factor:
Sounds are great, Gunshots and Explosions are mixed very well. Blood splatter and Camera Actions works very well, you can see blood squirting out of your enemy’s head mixed with Slow Motion Effects.
Overall Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is a decent game, but not good enough to compete with Call of Duty.

Halo 3 - Halo Box

Halo 3 is considered the most played video game of all time. At first I didn’t find Halo 3 exciting because I was just playing the campaign mode. The story was good but there are a lot of dull moments in the campaign mode. Just like the other 2 games from Xbox 1, you’ll play as Master Chief. As usual, you’ll hunt and shoot covenant forces but this time you’ll be tagged along Arbiter.  Like I said, the story was good but the gameplay in the campaign mode lack climatic moments.
Then I tried redeeming the 2 Day Multiplayer trial code I got from Modern Warfare 2 and logged in my Halo 3 game in the Matchmaking Multiplayer and all I can say is WHOA!!
I was playing the Matchmaking Social Slayer game for hours. I got hooked pretty much in the Multiplayer mode of Halo 3, then I just realized the main meat of Halo 3 was in the Multiplayer Mode. The campaign was just a small bonus and it quite sucked.

The Graphics were pretty awesome especially if your Xbox 360 is hooked on an HDTV.
The Sounds were good too although I was not impressed on the musical scores.
The Gameplay is Awesome in Multiplayer! Matchmaking Social Rumble pit and Slayer ROCKS!!

But I wouldn’t recommend playing the campaign mode except if you’re collecting achievement points, Halo 3 is packed with achievement points.
Controls are perfect! Halo3 was meant to be played on console. You’ll have to play the game to find out for yourself.
Overall, Halo 3 is a must have if you have an Xbox 360. Your Gold Subscription is nothing without Halo 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

It’s finally here, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 finally arrived last November 13, 2009 (here in the philippines). It’s a no brainer this is the best First Person Modern Shooter ever created, Activision and Infinity Ward had done it again.

I’m fairly new on playing games on the iPod touch so this will be my first iPod Touch game to be reviewed here in GameRevs.com.

EliminatePro is a Sci-fi free massive multiplayer online first person shooter. The game features extraordinary graphics for a handheld device and a generic shooting gameplay. Now, playing First Person Shooter on a touch screen device is purely insane but fun, you need extra precision on playing EliminatePro. You can use different kinds of weapons and armors by purchasing them… you can collect some sort of cash by killing your opponents and collecting their loot.

EliminatePro is quite addictive especially if you are into online games and an iPod touch / iPhone freak. This game is free for download so no jailbreaks needed on your device.

Crysis: Warhead

Do you want to play something on your PC that can make you’re video card cry for hours? Crysis: Warhead is the game for you. Crysis: Warhead uses an upgraded Crytek Engine 2. Same as the predecessor Crysis, the game sucks up huge resources from your gaming rig. Starting from your GPU up to your main CPU, small average computer won’t even load this monster up. But all that torture aside, Crysis: Warhead will definitely satisfy your gaming needs, from it’s compelling parallel story to the outstanding gameplay, Crysis: Warhead is one of the best buys of 2008.

The story focuses on the soldier named Scykes “Psycho”. Earth is being invaded by aliens and those evil north Koreans. Together with your few team mates, you must eliminate all invading aliens and terminate all North Koreans with their evil plans.

Gameplay is pretty much the same as the first Crysis. Nanotech suits and tons of killer weapons can be experienced through out the game.

The best part of this game is Crysis: Wars, the multiplayer installer for Crysis. The problem with this multiplayer installer is it lags up big time when too many players are in the same map.

Bottomline:

Graphics, Sounds, Gameplay, Story, Weapons and all are superb! You cannot go wrong with Crysis: Warhead.

The only bad part here is you need an expensive yet ultra powerful gaming rig in order to play it at 60fps at maximum settings

FarCry 2

Have you ever played Crytek’s Original Far Cry? those sci-fi stuff and all? Well Far Cry 1 has definitely nothing to do with Far Cry 2. Let’s talk about the specs and engines first.

Far Cry 1 uses the gut-wrecking Crytek Engine, the era of Pentium 4 was totally abused by Crytek Engine but in return, Far Cry players experienced Eye-popping visuals that looks incredible until now even with the next-gen Graphic Engine Technologies.

Snipy Snipy!!

Years have passed and Far Cry 2 was born, this time it uses the all new DUNIA Engine. A state-of-the-art graphics engine where all physics can be seen and interactively play with it. You can destroy almost everything and create incredible Forest Fires, well actually Fire Art is the main attraction of DUNIA Engine. With all that great features, DUNIA does not eat up much resources as much Crytek Engine 2, you can run Far Cry 2 in a medium-high spec machine and the Xbox360 is by far the crispiest version of all.

The Story:

Like i said Far Cry 2 has nothing to do with the first Far Cry. While Far Cry 1 focuses on aliens and other Sci-fi Stuff, Far Cry 2 focuses on a realistic story. The storyline revolves around africa, politics, rebels and the Jackal (the main antagonist in the game, well sort of…)

You can play with more guns such as MP5, Carbines, RPG’s, Makarovs, ETC…. if you love guns, Far Cry 2 is your game. It’s an inceredible open-world First Person Shooter, play it in anyway you want, kill the enemies at night for stealth tactics or kill them upfront on daylight for maximum fire power.

The Bad Side: the in-game map is around 50sq km. it’s very tedious to drive around to do some missions.

Battlefield Bad Company

I’m a big fan of First Person Shooters particularly in Modern Age War setting, for me World War II setting is now kind of overrated. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare really caught my eye for sometime now and I just can’t get enough. Then I was in a Game Store and I saw this Battlefield: Bad Company on the store shelf. I already read reviews about this from Gamespot.com and IGN and the rating were pretty damn impressive, now I’m doing my own review about this console exclusive shooter.

The Good:

Battlefield: Bad Company features a Fleshed-out story packed with excellent voice acting and funny lines, you’ll get hooked with it and definitely enjoy every moment of the game. Lots of weapons and vehicles can be used here such as heavy guns, RPG’s, laser guided missiles, tanks, helicopters, etc etc… You can destroy almost every in your path, houses, buildings, trees you name it.

The Bad:

Grainy graphics and horizontal tearing may get a boring impression on some gamers. AI are sometimes too accurate or too stupid. Echo-y sounds are too much

Why is this Console Exclusive?? No love for PC gamers?

Verdict:

Battlefield: Bad Company is a all out badass game and is definitely worth the money, if you are into First Person Shooter, Battlefield: BC must not be missed out, especially if you love lots of guns and artillery weapons

World at War

I’m not saying that getting back in a World War II setting is a bad thing, it’s just there’s nothing new to it, well except for the outstanding story and new line of enemies. Same guns as Call of Duty 1 to 3, same setting, same feel, This is Call of Duty: World at War.

This game uses the Modern Warfare Graphics Engine and the same gameplay as previous Call of Duty titles. Sniping and Bombardment sequences are the best part in this game, you can see your enemies dismembered and torn apart. After you have finished the game, you will unlock the Nazi Zombie game wherein you will shoot down Zombies and earn points.

If you are to compare this to Call of Duty 4, World at War is just a piece of crap to be honest.
